Your project portfolio holds far more than what a dashboard can show: every task, allocation, timesheet line, budget envelope, risk and decision, accumulated over years. Business intelligence opens that dataset to the analytics tools your organization already runs, instead of keeping it behind an export button.
A datamart, not an export
FoxPlan feeds a datamart whose tables mirror the application data model — projects, portfolios, tasks, resources, allocations, timesheets, budgets, revenue and margin, risks, decisions. It is queried in standard SQL, so any BI tool connects to it natively. No CSV to re-import every month, no scraping of screens, no bespoke API script to maintain.
Your custom fields are part of the model
The fields you defined for your own organization — business line, entity, funding source, phase, whatever your governance needs — travel to the datamart with their labels, alongside the standard fields. They become dimensions and filters in your reports, so the analysis speaks your language rather than a generic project vocabulary.
The full history, not just today
The datamart keeps the history of your projects, which is what makes trend analysis possible: budget consumption over several fiscal years, workload evolution by team, delivery reliability from one portfolio review to the next, revenue and margin per client over the life of a contract.
Cross-reference with the rest of your data
Because the data sits in a warehouse you control, you can join it with your other sources — HR, ERP, finance, CRM — and build the consolidated views that no project tool can produce on its own. Your teams keep working in Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or MicroStrategy, with the models and access rights they already have.
